I’m a sucker for a night sky filled with stars and the skies I saw in Jackson exceed all night skies I’ve gazed upon. Jackson is filled with some of my favorite family memories. Staring up at that sky fills me with peace and allows me to reflect on all of the times shared with my family. Days are spent adventuring down the Kancamagus Highway and stopping to view new sights. Nights are spent on the porch, admiring the White Mountains and all the beauty they have to offer.
Camping was the first activity on the list. The last time I went camping was years ago and I was long overdue for a night spent in the woods. Sandwiches and amores – the perfect camping food- were on the menu. The night passed by and there it was, the star infused sky. Living near the city can make it hard to catch a glimpse of the billions of stars, but once you get out of that light pollution, it’s a whole different sight. I can confidently call this camping trip a success.
Next activity was taking a hike through the Flume Gorge and driving straight through the Kancamagus. The photos my family and I took will help give these places the true admiration they deserve.
The last part of the trip is watching the sunset from the back of the house, looking out at the White Mountains. It’s always breathtaking, nature’s finest hour.
I hope you enjoyed my little travel guide! Thank you to all who have kept up with me week by week, you’re all amazing.
