Destination : Ireland!

I took a trip to Ireland! This week I’m sharing a photo diary of all the places my nana and I traveled to. We took a tour of southern Ireland for one week! Dublin was our starting point and we ended in Ennis. Let me show you around!

Day 1 + 2 : We landed in Dublin one day before the actual tour started so we could rest and catch up on our sleep! The next day, my nana and I walked around the Temple Bar area and met up with the tour group at our hotel. The tour took us around Dublin and stopped for a guided tour of Dublin Castle – the Irish government complex. The day ended with a nice dinner and another great nights sleep!

There was only one other girl my age in my tour group, so I was super lucky to have her there with me for the rest of the trip! Thanks Sam for being an awesome travel buddy!

Day 3 : The tour group headed to Blessington to visit the Russborough House. This mansion was filled with beautiful works of art and antiques. Next stop, the Guinness Storehouse. I’m glad I went to the storehouse! Even though it was crowded, it was awesome to experience the Gravity Bar at the top of the building while enjoying my first Guinness.

Day 4 : We left the city of Dublin and headed for the countryside. The views kept getting better and better with each mile we drove. This was the first, and only day, we had any rain! First stop was Blarney Castle and Blarney Woollen Mills. I walked around the castle and the lovely gardens, but did not kiss the Blarney Stone. Next, we got back on the bus and drove to Kinsale! Our hotel was right on the water – magical. A walking tour guided us around the town and shared lots of interesting history with us. The day ended with a walk to the “End of the World” and dinner!

Day 5 : This day is one of my favorites by far! We woke up, ate breakfast, and got back on the bus for a full day of travel. We journeyed along the rugged western coastline of Cork via Clonakilty and Skibbereen, stopping along the way to view the breathtaking scenery. We arrived in Killarney to horse-drawn jaunting rides through Killarney National Park to view Ross Castle. I can’t put into words how incredible this day was. Every moment blew me away.

Day 6 : We explored Dingle Peninsula via boat tour, and saw the famous dolphin, Fungie. Fungie has called Dingle Bay his home for over 31 years! Next, we enjoyed a pint at the South Pole Inn. The rest of night was spent in downtown Killarney, having a delicious dinner and enjoying some live Irish music.

Day 7 : Last full day of tour! We visited the Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum. Then came my favorite stop – the Cliffs of Moher. I’ve seen so many photos of the cliffs, and I couldn’t have been more excited to see them in person. As we walked up the steps, the views didn’t disappoint. I could have spent all day there, just observing everything in sight. Next, we headed to Bunratty Castle for a medieval-style banquet with entertainment!

Day 8 + 9 : Said our goodbyes to our tour group and spent the rest of the day relaxing in Ennis. We flew home the next morning!

I could not be more thankful that I was able to go on this trip. I owe all the thanks to my grandparents! I shared this special experience with my nana, and I’m so glad we did it. This trip was more than I could have imagined, each day brought new adventure, filled with remarkable views. I’ll cherish it forever! 💛
