Boston Thrift Haul!

Happy Thursday everyone!

I had a lovely day off from work a few days ago and the first thing that came to mind was thrifting (of course)! I live about twenty minutes outside of Boston and that’s where my usual thrifting spots are. On my last excursion, I decided to go to one of my favorite spots and another one closer to the city. I was hoping to find some t-shirts and a pair of high-waisted shorts. I crossed my fingers and started my day of thrifting. Here’s what I got!

First stop, Savers!

Finally, I found a pair of shorts at the thrift store! They’re very high-waisted, which I love, and look awesome with this belt I also found. The shorts cost $6.49 and the belt cost $1.99. One of my fellow thrifting bloggers, Kali Borovic, also known as, Tales From The Thrift Shop, created a “Thrift List” of items she hopes to find in the thrift store this month! I was so excited when I found these shorts because I was able to check something off Kali’s list and keep searching for more items.

The next item I found was this navy, beige, and white striped shirt. It can go with everything and I love it tucked in to the new shorts I found. This outfit is perfect for a relaxing summer day with friends or for running errands. The shirt only cost $2.99!

Next stop, Buffalo Exchange!

I did not purchase the top or the jeans but the jeans were an awesome find! I was shocked when I saw the price was $9, but I was even more surprised to see that the jeans were American Apparel. These jeans can cost from $40 to almost $100. This pair didn’t fit right so I put them back on the rack for someone else to scoop up. They were one of the best deals I’ve seen in a while.

I purchased this next top that was only $10! The material is thick and cozy which would be perfect with a jean or leather jacket. I would wear this with very high-waisted jeans or shorts because it is a little too cropped for me. This is another item I can check off Kali’s list!!

My favorite find of the day was this retro sweater! I only paid $12 for this lovely oversized, comfy sweater. I’ve already worn it a bunch of times, even though it’s 70-80 degrees out. I’ve been wearing it partially tucked in to light wash jeans!

Last but not least is another ringer tee! I paid $8 for it. It has yellow, navy, white, maroon, and beige stripes. I have been obsessed with the shirt tucked into jeans look. It makes the outfit look more put together and you can show off the cute belt you might match with it!

That was everything I purchased at the thrift stores! It’s so fun going into different stores and seeing what their selection is like. Every store is unique. Sometimes I might find ten things to try on, or I’ll walk out of the store empty-handed.

I love writing these posts so if you have any suggestions on a thrifting themed post I should write, leave a note in the comments!

Stay rad,

Caroline Abigail

  1. I love everything you got! The cactus top is super cute too (: I have a retro sweater than I absolutely adore as well and wear all the time, so I know what you mean. Awesome post and great finds xoxo

  2. It sounds like you found some fantastic deals and were wise to leave behind the jeans (even if they were a deal). Prices seem much higher than in Minnesota thrift stores. But then I’ve learned that everything, especially housing, is much more costly in the Boston area than here in southeastern Minnesota. My recent Tufts University grad son lives in Somerville. He occasionally shops thrift stores and has landed some good deals.

How about doing a piece on thrift store artwork?
