Today I’m sharing my essential shoes!

I’m not afraid to admit that I’ve accumulated many pairs of shoes over the years! Each pair is purchased with a specific purpose, or maybe the deal was too good to pass up🌞 I’m obsessed with every pair I have – no shoe goes unworn!

Entering the Adult World

It has been a few months since I’ve sat down and took the time to think about who I am and who I’m becoming. I get overwhelmed at the idea of my future and having some type of “plan.” I sit here, working a full-time schedule (split between my two jobs), balancing friends and family, spending time on my blog, just wishing it could all be easier.

Thrift Haul : Searching for Work Clothes!

Hello & happy Thursday! <– I think that’s my new intro! 🌞

I had a half day at work earlier this week, so I headed on over to Savers. I realized that I needed a few business casual shirts for my new job, so I thought I would try my hand at thrifting them. I got lucky this time & I’m really excited about what I got. I can wear them to work, or dress them down to be more casual, which is my favorite part of thrifting – the versatility of the pieces!

My Go-To Morning Smoothie

On some mornings, I start work at 6:00am or 8:00am & I need a quick breakfast to get me going! I find that a smoothie is the most time efficient thing to make. Pre-Interview Jitters!

I’ve talked about my job search on the blog and on my Instagram page. It’s been quite the experience and the job hunt is still happening. I had an interview about a week ago and it was truly unique.

I luckily got a phone interview with one of the companies I recently applied to. It was about 40 minutes long, and it went quite well. The women I spoke with set up an in-person interview for a week later. She sent me an email with location information, and attached a file for a required PRESENTATION that I had to create for this interview. My initial reaction was to panic, call my dad, and tell him that I just couldn’t do it. I was overwhelmed by the thought of talking about myself in front of 2-3 people who are there to make sure I’m qualified enough for the job.

I decided that the presentation was something I had to do. No matter how nervous I felt, this was the experience that I needed. Even if I don’t get the job, I’m always satisfied with the skill and confidence I gain with each interview.

If you’re currently going through the same process as I am – applying and interviewing for jobs – remember to take a deep breath and put your best foot forward. The idea of interviewing is daunting, but once it’s over, you’ll be extremely proud you did it!

Tips For Interviews :

  1. Research the company & write down the key points of their mission statements
  2. Bring a few copies of resume, cover letter, and your transcript (if you’re a recent graduate)
  3. Never chew gum during an interview
  4. Introduce yourself, greet with a strong handshake, and always thank them for their time
  5. Follow up!!! This shows them that you’re excited to hear back from them & move forward in the interviewing process

I hope some of these tips helped! Thanks for reading.

Stay rad,
